Starting Tuesday, April 15, ahead of the notoriously delayed re-construction of the California Incline, a 900 foot section of a southbound lane of PCH, just south of Chautauqua Boulevard will be closed for one-year. This project is set to expand the
nearby sewer capacity to better handle urban runoff, especially during dry seasons. The lane closure will be between The Beach Club to the Annenberg Community Beach House. Work is to be done 7:00am-7:00pm Monday-Friday, and 8:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays. The Coastal Interceptor Relief Sewer (CIRS) project, the nearly $9 million project will see roadwork practically around the clock.
Anticipated Traffic Control
7:00am-10:00am – Provide two northbound lanes, provide three SB lanes, prohibit left-turn ingress and egress at driveways
10:00am-4:00pm – Provide two NB lanes, provide two SB lanes. Provide 10 foot center buffer lane and openings for left-turn access to driveways.
4:00pm-7:00pm – Provide three NB lanes, provide two SB lanes, prohibit left-turn ingress and egress at driveways.
Night work: 9:00pm – 5:00am two SB lane closures on PCH.
